Lake Mead, Trinity and Shasta are all good spots if you're willing to travel.

Lake Keowee in South Carolina is beautiful.

Is there size speed and noise limitations on Lake Keowee. I never thought to take my boat there thinking it wouldn't be aloud. We have a family house there with a dock but has a pontoon boat in it. Boat haven't been used in years

Gloc is close and has a shoot out now so should be interesting

Tennessee River from Land Between The Lakes in Kentucky to Wilson Lake in Alabama and all points in between. Pickwick always has a cool crowd tied up in Dry Creek. Bay Spring is super clean, quiet and not well known.

There is lots to do on Lake St. Clair and there is easy access to Lakes Huron and Erie.

Lake Charlevoix is the place to be, connected to Lake Michigan and several options for day boating in awesome water.

Two of our favorites:
Lake Norman, NC, just north of Charlotte
--several good restaurants/hot spots on the lake, sizable lake, LOTS of nice houses to look at (lots of NASCAR money in the area)
--book a house via VRBO.com to stay on the lake

Smith Mountain Lake, VA, western part of the state, near Roanoke
--movie "What About Bob" was filmed there, GREAT scenery, several good restaurants/hot spots; lake was made by adding a dam in the mountains, 200 feet deep in places...
--sometimes called "Lake Tahoe of the East"
--book a condo at marinerslanding.com to stay on the lake or VRBO, but some counties on the lake disallow short term rentals (Southerners that hate Yankees, yeah really)
--plenty of moonshine in the area as that's where some of the 'fake-reality TV shows' on the topic are filmed; shows are fake but the moonshine is GOOOOOOOD
