We installed a pair of T58s in this 38' cougar, About $300,000 + the cost of the boat. I am sure you could buy this one cheap

The brake system works great once you get the hang of it. It also keeps the rest of the boat neet and tidy. Nothing other than the turbins to work around.

Here's few of My Way

The brakes can actualy work as a brake as your running, if the need should arise!!!

How about making an inline Arneson "outboard" turbine??

Just a waterproof cover and then inline with the drive..but all external...think it would work...or just plain crazy? :D

Is it true that you can not really be agressive with the throttles in big waves at all ?? Or are they just for small waves chop..lakes..speed..

In Cape Cod we were running 115 in 4-5's during the race, so the answer is no :drink:

Why would anyone put thrusters on a turbine boat? Sounds more like a Hattaras. Check with Hellfire. He shifts without powering down.

No...big waves 6 to 8..what were you doing that in cat or vee? Will a turbine boat beat 46 skater Bacardi in big waves?

ScottB 06-30-2005 09:15 PM

Re: Turbine boats/ do or don't

We were running 100 pretty comfortably in big water in Miami.
It is a 51 OL. I would NEVER bet against Bacardi in any water
Johnny T and Dave Scott are a great team.

PS We were in the boat pictured in Post 42
