Default 525 MerCruiser

How well does this motor take to supercharging? Will it affect the reliability? What types of superchargers would work well with this motor? Thinking about doing this as a winter project.

Whipple. A 525 EFI with a Whipple SC is a great package, without breaking the bank.

Was your motor originally the 525 EFI? If so did you have the Whipple SC professionally installed? Also how much MPH did you gain?

Whipple’s packaging is just about oem. If you have 525 efi motors and are looking for more speed it’s a no brainer.

7 years and running strong. You can’t tell it’s there. Until you move the sticks...

Make sure you have someone who has done many and knows what they’re doing install it.

No. My engine is a factory Mercury 525SC. It’s old school carb and not EFI.

For the guys that said 5 and 7 years with the Whipple motor, how many hours? For us 5 years would be about 750 hours or more.

I know of people 5 years would be 100 hours, big range.
