Default Lake of the ozarks shootout

Happy Easter everyone,
My wife and I want to do the shootout this year for the first time. We are looking for suggestions on where to stay that is close to the action and good for kids also. We are also considering renting a boat any suggestions on where would be great. Thanks in advance

Lands End condos. Right in the middle of everything by water and by road, plus has amenities for the kids. Very nice condos, and probably one of, if not the best views on the lake.

What age kids??? It really depends on what "action" you want to be close to.
Being close to Capt Ron's will be a long way by car to most other stuff and lake hotspots.

Entering is pretty easy. Fill out the forms, have the proper safety equipment and get a tech inspection at Capt Ron's

That young might make it tough. Been there and you'll need to be flexible.
I would say you will want to be on the Osage Beach side. That way you won't have a 30+ min car ride to everything.
Maybe?? Holiday Shores Resort Great land and water location and kids areas. No main channel view though
I've stayed there lots of times. I've never stayed at Land's End but only heard good things about it and the view there is incredible.

I don't want to be a negative nanny, but Shootout is more of a Adult weekend than kids... Everything is geared towards the adults; music, restaurants, type of boats in area as well as the rougher water due to the volume of boats that weekend.

My suggestion is get a sitter that weekend for the kids, you will be glad you did, then..... Bring them back another time of Memorial day, 4th or Labor day, those are the predominate Family weekends and business are geared in that direction.

I just cant see being it is your first visit having the stress of the biggest weekend of the year and trying to keep track and take care of the kids at the same time.... Again, not trying to be negative, just realistic and want you to enjoy your trip so you continue to return to our lake.
