Default Boat cover/shelter

Just bought a home that doesn't have a place to keep the boat under cover yet... It will be a few years before I can put something permanent up. Looking for ideas to keep it protected for the time being. I have a boat cover but want something more so that doesn't get trashed.

Go to Harbor Freight and get a build-it-yourself carport.

1) Where are you located? Snow load and wind stability are crucial in deciding what will work for you.
2) I bought and built a 14 x 36 x 16 Peak Style Portable Garage from www.ecanopy.com last year. I built about 85% myself, and had a friend's help to finish. It was a bigger PITA that I thought, but it's quite stout. It's withstood this winter in Virginia just fine, and we've had a couple of significant wind storms too. It creaks and moves a bit, but has stayed solid. I added some extra ground anchors, but that's all I did differently.
(Tip: I used one of those heavy duty commercial construction caliber 2-handed drills to screw the ground anchors in. It worked really well.)
3) When you buy and install correctly from eCanopy; they provide a warranty with it after you submit pictures.

To continue:
4) I did have to go back add a vapor barrier (which I wasn't surprised by) because it did want to suck moisture out of the ground; and collect inside the canopy to rain down on the boat. Once I put the vapor barrier down, no issues at all.
5) I also put a "weight" down around the skirt of the canopy. I filled some PVC pipe with sand, and laid it down the sides, held close by some short stakes. That keeps the cats and critters from going under the skirt, but IF wind needs to blow the skirt out, it can push the skirt out past the weighted PVC. I can get a pic if needed.
