They are not terrible, but definitely not a fan.
That one you posted with diesels is the only one I've heard of like such; which is actually kind of cool

The one in the OSO classifieds actually looks a little better with that Lightning style windshield and oddly placed radar arch.

But I think that one-off "48 foot" Black Thunder that had the cruiser deck on top of it was the result of looking at a 38 SC Fountain, and the statement: "Hold my beer."

The only large V diesel I'd ever buy is Bob's Predator!
On the SC's, I knew a guy that bought a 38 SC and literally destroyed it. He is a combo of Ricky Bobby/Joe Dirt and used to do the dumbest sh!t. He buys a 38 SC (no survey of course) and a motor goes bad on the ride home resulting in like a 4 hour idle home. He didn't care since he was going to build some big power for it anyway. So it gets to a marina, motors get yanked then moved to a storage facility and 4 years later the boat still hasn't gotten off land. By now the interior/paint are showing serious wear and he is hyping a total redo (yet the motors still aren't done). I think it ended with a craigslist sale that barely paid the storage yard rent that was due. I know the boat is long gone but every once and a while you will hear about him talking about his 38 Fountain!

I can't find similar for similar price... might end up keeping it...
you know when you find a new boat, everything is supposed to be 100%, but you often end up rebuilding this or that and spend money on top of what was supposed to be 100%...
worst case i will keep the mecanic for the chriscat when restored in a couple years and schred the hull if i can't sell it.

Get him up a bit on price and sell. Lots of boats for sale and not enough buyers. Every day there's a thread on here that refers back to the slow market of sports boats and as you know, big triples are among the hardest to sell.

Hypothetically, if he came up another 5k....? If you said no and then decided to sell in a years time, if you couldn't find a buyer, how low would you go just to get out of the boat?

Sounds like a beautiful boat for your needs but unless you're 100% certain it will keep you happy for another 5 or so years, I'd do a deal.

Good luck,
RR
