Oh they're back, just on center consoles. They were never on "fast" offshore boats. They were on comfortable offshore boats. Scarabs, Sonics, Excalibur, 47 Fountain etc. All replaced in today's world with the CC. |

87 Fino. Gotta love the late 80s in FLA. When Wellcraft built our boat they forgot to change the HIN on the next one they pulled from the mold- Can you say Blow :flag: |

Had them previously, great on cruisers and popular on anything that wanted to be a 'Miami Vice' style boat. Good for lights, speakers, antennas, radars bimini etc, otherwise, it's just clumsy wind resistance. RR

I never cared for them on offshore boats. Great to have on CC's, and functional too. The thing I like the most is I can choose to have shade, or not. After getting baked in the sun for 50+ yrs., I need a break.

Late 80's in Australia, bit like the Portofino style above. (Always loved the Portofino but very few made it to Aus) https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...08ab8fcb81.jpg |
I am not sure of the year. I think the 89-90 22 Scarab had one that looked pretty cool.

I like the radar arches on CC's. Great for carrying wakeboards, spreader lights, speakers, fish pole holders. I believe Predator has them as an option on their C25CC and C30CC models. This one is the C25CC. Also doubles as a bimini top connector. Here are pics with/without. Can be powder coated to match any color. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5b8eebe366.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...0f36fc916c.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9f80e043e2.jpg |
