Default GM Intake

Does anyone know the GM part number for the Vortec 4.3 L -- 262 - 4 bbl - 8 bolt pattern Intake manifold part number ? Or were can I find one - cast iron ? You can find the pre vortec 1995 and back all over the place but not the Vortec 8 bolt pattern 4 bbl intake manifold..

Mercury used that same 4bbl manifold on the throttle body injection units. I used a 2000 TBI system to replace a 2008 TKS carb system. With no other changes other than a prop the 18’ Larson picked up 6 mph!

The 4 bbl manifold is a bit of a hi-rise.

Its customer boat has TKS carb from stock Merc --- He wants 4 BBL intake and carb set up only. I found the GM number in my notes from years ago. Thanks. He wants in parts to only spend 1250 MAX. Other wise might as well throw a SB in it.

And Yes i know a waste of money for a V 6 app. Thats what he wants period and I get the labor end and small mark up on the part sales

I’m guessing the hi-rise of the plenum makes all the difference in power. The TKS manifold has the plenum BELOW the intake ports. What a torturous path for airflow. Probably the only worthwhile upgrade to that V6 that won’t add weight.

Hey BUP, I may have one. I bought out an engine shop and in the 40+ small blocks was a V6 with the four barrel iron intake on it. I will have to run over to the ware house and see which one it is and let you know. give me till the end of the day to get over there.
thanks
steve

Steve Thanks let me know cause I have to buy one soon. I have the 12 bolt pre vortec and carb for those in my storage but not for the Vortec -

IF you have the Merc / weber 4 bbl Carb to, let me know. --- Electric choke. The number on the carb for that is 9666 not 9600. Really do not want to play around with jetting and metering rods of the 9600 to dial it in. Thanks again..

Thanks for looking. If you have the Merc Weber for it let me know - really want new or slightly used for both. Carb and intake.
