Yep, that's RIGHT! The ground is WHITE!!!!!!!!! My 9 week old puppy isn't quite sure what to make of it. Moomy said "you better start to like it, cuz daddy waits all year for it!":D I am sure it won't stay till this afternoon, but what a WELCOMED sight!:) :) :) :) :)

Laveyman 10-23-2002 08:22 AM

I grew up on Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota. I don't miss winter at all! If I want winter, I'll drive an hour to the mountains, and then come back to the warmth, or go to the beach! :D

dyno 10-23-2002 08:30 AM

Winter sucks!!!parts of the UP got 10 inches yesterday....

mattyboy 10-23-2002 08:31 AM

Shane,
you're far to happy about this..
this is not a good thing

Shane 10-23-2002 08:35 AM

I am PSYCHED!!!!!

I am ready to take the day off just to play in the inch or so we got last night! Driving in to the office this morning was a BLAST! Snow coming down like crazy. I wish we had gotten the 10 inches they got in the UP. See, when you are a DIE HARD snowmobiler, the BEST thing about June...is it is ONLY 6 months still snowmobile season starts! :D

skatermike24 10-23-2002 08:38 AM

Not to rub it in but its gonna be 86 here today!:D

BURNSMAZZ 10-23-2002 09:57 AM

I just talked to a dude in the U.P and he said they got around a foot in the L'anse Baraga area, hey us northern boys need something to rag on in the winter otherwise you'd go nuts! The change in seasons does me good.

Playn 10-23-2002 10:48 AM

Looks like the Northern shore of the UP is getting a little bit

Winter Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a half inch or so of snow on the ground here as well. I hate it.
At least I get to go to Key West soon, though!!!:D :D :D

That's it. I am moving out of this frozen place! There's gotta be a way to make a good living in a warmer climate!
Oh well, thank God for the airlines.:D

Panther 10-23-2002 11:33 AM

Keep it up there

Hey, keep the snow up there. Don't bring it down here to Jersey for a couple of months. The winter is so boring!!!

BURNSMAZZ 10-23-2002 11:38 AM

You have to be active in the winter to appreciate it.We have a hell of a lot of fun snowmobiling, the good parts of winter out weigh the bad part by a lot.Nothing like getting out there blowing down trails, doing some drag racing, telling a few lies, and having a few beers with your buddies.

Panther 10-23-2002 11:50 AM

Not here

Not down here. All we have is cold a$$ weather, with no snow on the ground. Even when it does snow you can't snow mobile, it's against the law, unless you are in some open field out in the boon docks. We have to travel hours to get to the fun. I am an avid Snowboarder, and that is the only reason I like winter.

Risk Taker 10-23-2002 11:53 AM

Three inches at ny house this morning.....will all be gone by the time I get home.......just too frickin' early for this chit.....:( :( .

ChrisK 10-23-2002 12:01 PM

Uhhhh... snow... hmmm... I have a small rememberance of it... I remember its cold and it SUCKS! I am wearing a short sleeve shirt, and if i could I would be wearing shorts today. Ahhhh cant wait till this weekend while im out in the boat running the poker run in sarasota. Oh wait I think im rubbing it in... Yup I am... sorry thats IS why I moved here! :D :D

IDRPSTF 10-23-2002 12:04 PM

I think when I drive down the coast to have lunch in my shorts and T-Shirt, I will drop the top on my car and let my hair get its sunkissed highlights. Oops!! Sorry!!!

Shane 10-23-2002 12:12 PM

See, all you guys think you are making us jealous. But when you are a true DIE HARD snowmobiler you are unaffected by these lame attempts at jealousy. We LIVE TO RIDE AND RIDE TO LIVE to use the phrase of a famous motorcycle company. Snowmobiling is like performance boating. It is an addiction. It cannot be cured, and if I were in Florida or California right now I would be bummed that I wasn't here when it snowed. It is just like a sailboater wondering what pleasure we derive from or loud stinky go-fasts. You southerners just don't understand what pleasure we derive from the winter treasure!:)

skatermike24 10-23-2002 01:22 PM

Shane you need to choose between snowmoblies or boats, there's not enough room here for both, pal:D :D :D

Airpacker 10-23-2002 01:23 PM

All I need is 10 minutes, good snow and ice conditions and I could have everyone of you non- sledders lining up to buy one.Its that simple, sledding rules.Where else can you go 100 plus mph with no laws being broken.Oh I know your going to say on the water but on a sled, you don't have to stop at the end of the lake:D and you don't need to mortgage your left nut to own one.

Strike 10-23-2002 01:48 PM

Shane

I agree about sledding! But damn, we still have a lot of boats to take out after the longer than average season we had. Won't be long though!

otis311 10-23-2002 03:25 PM

Hey Shane ole boy, go @%$%$&^ you and your snowmobiling.
Ive only got 20 more days until Im in sunny Florida with my boat for the winter sitting over at Shell Island with my buddy Baja Daze, Talking bad about you snowmobilers. And yes, I used to snowmobile but, it was only to pass the time by till I could get to my beloved boat. Have fun on that thing and dont freeze to death if thats what you REALLY like doing instead of BOATING year round

Otis

Shane 10-23-2002 03:34 PM

Otis,

You working tonight, tomorrow or Friday. Wifey poo is in Toronto, (don't get any ideas airpacker!:p ) thought I would stop by the barn. If you hate winter so much why live in SNOW COUNTRY? And BTW, you make MONEY when it snows!

CigDaze 10-23-2002 03:53 PM

Ya, what Bob said!:p :p

j/k...;) :D

See you in the winter...

Shane 10-23-2002 03:54 PM

Did Bob tell you his best friends name is Neil, they make a good couple, Neil and Bob, yup, that's what they do!:p :p :p

otis311 10-23-2002 04:00 PM

Im working right now !!! yes I do make $$$ when it snows, but I also make $$$when it doesnt (seasonal contracts) Besides I have emplyees go out and plow while im in bed dreaming about BOATING !!

IDRPSTF 10-23-2002 04:01 PM

I make money when it snows too. All of you east coasters start dreaming about a bigger boat after paying the winterazation bill and I start getting new boat orders. Fine buy me. I went to school in PA and the snow was magical for about the first month. Sledding, snowmen, and a white Christmas. The flier didnt didnt say anything about jaking up your car on ice to fix a flat (The ultimate test of manhood!!!) or the amount of shrinkage one gets when you lok yourself out of the house when its 10 Below 0. No thanks man, Im just fine back here in California where Girls wear Tiny tops as evening wear.

traviss 10-23-2002 04:42 PM

lets just say I have all the torpedo heaters in the state of michigan! :D :D It ain't ever gonna F@#^n snow at my house :D

Plus I try to pollute all i can for the ozone hole to get bigger..

And next week I leave to head up to the north glaciers. I have a huge torch and freighter full of fuel, gonna do a little melting and make it waterworld!!!! :D :D
