Default Lay Lake Alabama

Any OSOer's on Lay Lake AL? Thinking about buying a lot on it and building a summer boating hang-out. Can you boat to the Gulf, down the Alabama river? I heard there are some locks on the way to the gulf...

I just looked on google maps and it looks like you can.

I may be wrong but I think lay lake may have a length limit on the boats there. You’ll want to check into that for sure.I do remember some of the lower lakes on the Coosa River have length limits.

I've boated just about all the major lakes in Alabama, but not that particular one. I don't have any info on it or know anyone that knows anything about it.

I was thinking of Lake Martin. I've never been on either lake.
