from what I understand the mold was cut up by mistake. this info came from a employee who worked there.

Tom, the boat looks great! Congrats. You know I'm a big fan of that boat.

As for the ZRC coming back?
There are LOTS of rumors about those molds.
"left out in weather, no longer good"
"stolen/missing"
"hidden during ownership transition"
"cut up/damaged"

Who knows. It's such a cool boat. There renderings and rumors of it coming back not long ago with outboards which could be very interesting; especially with the big power Mercury and Yahama options on the market or soon to be available.
