Nothing to see here, girls, move on.....

An AT misjudged and hit the Jetty. All are fine. As usual the alcohol apparently made people stupid.

Learn from it. Don't judge.

Thing good happens after midnight on the water.

Good to read they're ok, just suffering from hangovers and damaged pride.
I wonder what the extent of the damage is to the boat? Sad to see a new(ish) Defiant on the rocks.

I'm going to gently disagree with the "Don't judge" part. At least in my judgement, if you're boating under the influence you're an idiot. :) And you're making a decision—one you have no right to make—that affects the safety of the people in your boat and others on the water.

Off the water. Hell, I'll meet you at the bar. First one is on me.

Sydwayz 05-29-2018 09:17 PM

Well, I've read that the owner was NOT on the boat, and it was "borrowed" without permission. So yeah, there were a bunch of bad decisions.

Boat looks great for such an impact. Active Thunder makes a rock solid boat!

I was thinking the same thing!

Sydwayz 05-30-2018 09:32 AM

As long as there is no puncture damage to the sides of the hull, it will be a pretty simple fix. Notice, I didn't say easy. I just said simple. The bottom of ATs are solid fiberglass, no coring.
As long as it's just fiberglass damage on the bottom, and the engines just need impellers, lowers, and props, it could be back on the water by 4th of July.

Pat missed his chance, I would have said the DDC patented hull was out crushing jetty's this weekend! It said nothing to see here, girls.......I clicked thinking it was a model photo shoot or something!

Guy Berretta, who has lived in the area for 13 years, woke up to sirens rushing past his house.

“I put my scanner on and heard there was a call for a water rescue at the outlet,” he said.

That's like boat borrowing 101...... yes you can use it but if something happens to you or the boat I know nothing and never knew the boat was gone.

While I might normally agree with you.

I don't know a soul that would loan out their boat willingly to a drunk 23 year old for late night joy rides. I have let my friends use my Sonic when I had it but I can assure you they were not drunk and it was not late night.

Fixed it for you. Because if you don’t know (or know of) at least one moron who has loaned his car/house/boat/vacation property to some twenty-something exotic dancer/Instagram model that’s rolling 24/7, you’re probably living a pretty sheltered existence.

1989mach1 05-31-2018 04:05 PM

That was a very loses comment. Not to be taken 100% to heart. But maybe the guy did let him take it for the day and the day turned into a drunken night. Who knows

1989mach1 05-31-2018 04:26 PM

And no one that did lent out there boat and this happened would say oh ya I let him I do it all the time. I didn't think this was going to happen. Insurance company would be grinning from ear to ear
