And I disagree that they are limited on portage and can't go to the Bahamas or Florida or absolutely anywhere. You just end up anchoring offshore like the cruise ships in many ports. Paul Allen has a house about 2 miles from our place in Kona, Hawaii and anchors up Octopus off the point for weeks at a time. What do you think the helicopter and 50' tenders are for? When my daughter lived in West Palm Beach, I'd go visit her - and while she was at work, I'd hang out in her condo pool which was about six feet from the edge of the ICW (so close I could almost spit in it). Spent some fun afternoons chilling in the pool with a few beers, watching the huge yachts come down the ICW to Palm Beach for "The Season." One day, I saw one so big I just had to go back into her condo to look it up on the computer...as I recall, it was The Octopus.

I also think the Russian guys buying/building these huge boats is a way to keep the money global, out of Russia. If they have a 300mm yacht traveling the world it is harder for the Russian Govt. to get their hands on it vs. keeping it in Russian banks or Russian real estate. |

I have a 50 ft Express Cruiser built By Cruisers Yachts. Great Boat.. Love it. But I keep it in Aventura Florida between N Miami and Ft Lauderdale. Lets just say in that neck of the woods... Its not a Yacht...lol...
