For how long? I am personally leaning toward a 7 year ballon at 5% on the home I am buying. I've never lived in the same house more than 5 years.

Just depends on how long you will be there or how fast you want to pay it off? 5 year balloon is around 4.75.

A 30 year fixed around 6.125 to 6.25. Rates are volitile right now, they are dying to raise them and any positive economic news is translating to mortgages pretty quick.

There some people saying this is temporary, but who knows

Tinker- If you are looking for financing get a hold of me. I am a Real Estate Agent that also has a seat at a mortgage broker. Since that is not my primary income I can usually get the best rates because I don't need to "Rape" someone to make my house payment . Call me an tell me exactly what you are trying to do and I will let you know what is your best deal. Since you are a local OSO crony no one will beet what I will do for you. Chad 616-813-4537

I recently did a refinance on a 30 year fixed jumbo at 7% with Bank of America. I think the Jumbo's are about a point higher, so I am told. Wardey
