Propeller & Pitch Question HELP! Rinker 282
Hello,
I have a 2003 rinker 282 captiva bowrider with a 6.2 mpi motor with a bravo 3 outdrive 2.2 gear ratio. The boat weights about 8000 with people and gear on board. At the moment we have a duo propeller with 26 pitch. With the throttle wide open we are only getting the motor up to 4100 rmp. Ive been told the motor is capable and safe to run up to 5100 to 5200 rmp. Does any one have an idea of what pitch prop i need to install to gain the extra rmp ?

Sounds like you're going to definitely need to drop some pitch . The 24" set might be a good starting point but confirm first what the factory WOT rpm actually is for that engine.
If you have a friendly Merc outlet near you that will let you try first without buying , that will be the way to go as , normally , once you buy 'em they're yours. And they aren't cheap.
