The guy who inspired me to ask the "last boat" question is a fairly private person. However, I don't think he'd mind me saying, his budget went up but it's his 'last boat' so why not! Love it or hate it (I love it) hoping to go for a ride one day.

Adding my 2 cents here, can't really say when I'll buy my last boat. Started with a 23 Nova XL with a small block. Moved up to a 30 Wellcraft cruiser. Got the performance bug so I bought a 38 Top Gun. Decided to get something smaller so the gun went down the road.
Ended up buying a 47 Fountain SC with triples. Lol. So much for downsizing.
It's a sickness .🤒

Getting closer and closer to 60 man I hate the sound of that period. I prob have a couple more buys in me. I have driven so many boats and I mean so many from bayliners - bajas - to cigs to fountains to cobalts to scarabs to Donzi s to Toyota Marine and all the wake board brands along with many bass boats and even pontoon boats thru out since the 80 s to current being in the boat biz. The odd part is, I have never personally owned a twin staggard engine boat but have owned many side by sides. I actually want a staggard engine boat. I also really like 27 to 30 ft single engine boats alot - prob my favorites.. I have a couple of more buys in me 4 sure
I have never driven a Warlock or Activator or a Kyript. I want to at least drive these 3 brands just saying

38 years old, so I have a couple left in me. At some point I'd like to do something kind of extreme - maurader or a big cat. Would like to try turbine power at some point.....
My father lives next to me and is 73. I can see at his age it makes sense to be in something smaller and more useable....
I think my last boat will be a small classic donzi.

I’m on my second “last boat”. Both project full rebuilds. The latest last boat is scheduled for two years of work. I’m a glutton for punishment.
Kids should be out of the house and off to college about the time it’s done. Latest boat will have facilities for wife and I to spend overnights.

Timely question for my self as well. I'm 61 currently building another 30 Suberboat Y2K. I've always had boats in my life since the age of about 10. Been almost 8 years since my last go fast, and the Kayaks while fun, haven't been cutting it. I have been blessed with the use of my brothers' boats when I asked as they both have several. I've been wondering at this age if I'm going to do another performance boat, I better get busy!!! So yes I pulled the trigger. It may be my last but never say never.

I have also been considering shelter Island yachts, I sure have a soft spot for them. Not many for sale and timing is everything. I missed an opportunity that I regret. One recently for sale (Bernie Madoffs old boat) to me is too much money and once I learned that, my wife and I fear some bad ju ju may follow. Being superstitious and all...Always looking and pondering!
