Getting on a plane with 24 people on board

i have a manta 32’ cc. Installing a pair of new verado 350s. I Plan to carry 22 or 24 ppl as well and beer and supply’s in the bow cuddly to my island resort in colombia about an hour and a half ride each way.
My boat has offshore tabs. What position should I run the tabs to help get it on plane. The verados comes with 16” 19P props. Do you think I should run. A 17 pitch to help get it on plane? Thx in advance for your input, RM

Charlie McCarthy showed me how to get my 35 mistress on plane much more easily by putting in a turn and laying the hull on its side. They got the old offshore boats on plane with mechanical FI with zero bottom end tq and tons of fuel in them

iliveonanisland 08-16-2018 09:02 PM

It has seating for 12 ppl and twin 125 gal fuel tanks.

iliveonanisland 08-16-2018 09:04 PM

I’m adding two hundred hp and a bunch of tq over 250 2t engines. I don’t think it will be that hard looking for advice on tab position and prop pitch

Craney 08-16-2018 09:20 PM

Throw 22 people off it’ll get right up on plane.

DRAG 08-16-2018 09:54 PM

Friend of mine just replaced his Yamis with ETECS on his CC and it’s night and day more powerful. He loves it.

Wobble 08-16-2018 10:22 PM

I'd carry a couple of nitrous bottles, a 150 shot to each motor might get that many people on plane for a while. :drink:

phragle 08-16-2018 10:59 PM

Ok ...this is Columbia....we need a little more information...those 22 passengers...are those 24 skinny little coke whores or are those the 24 fat drunkin bastards on their way to bang said *****es??

rak rua 08-17-2018 12:39 AM

These are everywhere........
Twin Yammies or sometimes Honda's, marine ply, 10 degrees deadrise, 38' long, carry 40 desparate squawking tourists, and you tow them behind a 2.5 liter Hilux on a classy trailer........

I'm not sure which is more spectacular- all those same type boats in one spot or the amt of lines those telephone poles hold. ;)

All those wires are handy to walk along when doing routine maintenance.
(BTW, I've seen a lot worse)

Quick smile then we should get back on topic. :)

Hey RM, glad to hear you are getting this thing off the ground.

As for your question, when I raced back in the early 90's we ran a 29' Mirage with small blocks and propped for top end. I know its different but we had to work to get it out of the hole and on plane. We switched to the big 380 size tabs and would damn near bury them while leaving the drives more to the neutral range. That seamed to get the stern up without shooting the nose into the air. Also, weight distribution in your boat will be key. Load up a little nose heavy to get on plane and then move people around the first few trips to find the best balance.

Could you imagine being a lineman down there.

ROB FREEMAN 08-17-2018 12:36 PM

Dam that looks like my stereo wiring. 👀👀👀

Interceptor 08-17-2018 12:53 PM

A couple pangas with Yamaha outboards would probably do this task more efficiently and safer.

WARPARTY36 08-17-2018 02:07 PM

I’ve had 22 people a few timers and it makes the boat heavy but manageable in my Cig. Bury the tabs and try the props as is before spending money on them. They may work fine.

Powerquest230 08-17-2018 08:37 PM

Look at how much shallower that 38 bottom is compared to the Manta.

I’d check the Miami - Cuba boards for the best advice on that type of load.

2t suck more fuel but the oil is what kills ya. The boats here change oil every 100 hours 10 qts for a pair of 4t. In 100 hours of running you burn 187 qts of two stroke oil. They are replacing the 200 2t which burn 43gals on a 1:15 min trip here and back. The 150 4t push just as hard. And burn 28 gals. So it 2k dollars more in your pocket every 6 weeks or so. The local boats are 14 or 18* hulls and run 200. 4t engine and carry 43 ppl. I’m running to Cartagena about 1:45 each way.

The 350 verados are supposed to have some serious mid range I’m sure the marina will have a pair of props to try out. It’s a huge marina complex. For Colombia any way.

we are killing it bro. We have only been on all the travel websites like booking for three months and are avg 90 ppl a day. Building 29 more rooms ASAP and opening a dive shop and transport boats.

Thx so much for the tips on tab and drive position. Kind of stuck on the seating but can store a lot of supplies rearward under the deck in two huge fish boxes. Do to going daily won’t have to bring to much in the waynofnsupplies down daily. I have another boat that will Goni to the mainland in the south west direction with 40hp eng to bring beer sodas and a weekly bulk food purchase.

I want a refund if someone puts me in a 32' with 21-23 other people on board. Would be getting back on the plane, forget getting on plane.

Hell my capt will even let you use the bow cabin to get a hummer if you tip him lol

most of the tour boats I think run 17p but they only have 200s. Once I’m on plane and feed it the coal I think I will be fine.

Thx bro, it as a ball buster getting it built the first two years. We’ve been open just over two now and since getting our business licenses we have blow up on booking TripAdvisor etc. Building 20 more rooms ASAP. RM

iliveonanisland 08-18-2018 07:58 PM

Next year I’m going to bring down a used 36 skater and scare the chit out of these people. There are zero badazz boats like the states here.

Late this year I want to bring down a 21 to mount a fresh 300 omc V8 on, then will have water skiing and barefoot classes.

Place looks awesome, I’m viewing on mobile device- is there an English (gringo) version of site?

You live in paradise. I'm sure guys are allowed on Isla Mucura but I guess it's just more appealing to post pictures s of girls. :)
Good luck to you, a great setup there.
