Cool high pressure fuel pump
Just had this replaced by my marina and it cost me $2100. I have a pair of 6.2 in a 292 Fastech. Just curios if this seem about right. Had just the port side done.
Thanks

Crazy huh ?
This is why I/O boats are disappearing. Mercruiser is doing this. At times (like this) it seems intentional.

The entire fuel module is $1084 each at BAM
https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/...31788/13884/63
Now if they just replaced the HP pump at $399 then that's high. I hope you kept your old assemblies they are worth something an can be rebuilt easy enough.

was never told which fuel pumps and which cool fuel ?
I am going by the GEN 2 fuel pump kits here
gen 2 the kits are like 400 bucks per side. so we have 800 bucks
then Misc and shop supplies add another 100
then we have labor - if NO engine pulling out for replacement then we have from 3 to 6 labor hours per side - why NO freakin access period. So we will take the average for hours here. 4.5 times 2 = 9 hours. at 100 bucks per labor hour were at 900 bucks.
Then however this portion was billed in -- lake test and fuel pressure tests and If it was in my hands I would scan both engines on top of.
then sales tax I easily see 1800 bucks here min. And if one engine had to be pulled for access YOU ARE LUCKY THE BILL WAS ONLY 2100 bucks.
call the boat manu and Merc and ***** for the NO ACCESS to even work on boats period.
Im 6 3 - 235 and do this everyday so access is not easy by no means. And when customers ***** with how much is that going to be -- I give them the wrenches and say here you go to save you all the labor - I will be back in 6 hours and if you have it done PROPERLY and with NO leaks plus we lake test it all being 100 % --- I will buy ALL your parts for free. Guess how many take up that offer on a job like this ZERO.

NP. I have a 2002 fastech 292 with 6.2. I was told it has a GEN 2. They replaced the cooler, pump and fuel regulator. 901 in parts and 1100 in labor. They did do a fuel pressure test before the repair. Was not really complaining about the cost just did not know if it seemed right.
Thanks for your help
