I have spent a lot of time in the DW360 and the boat is a 10. Myrick has run a best of 126 with one, it turns and handles incredibly as well. I am partial to Doug's boats-you might want to call Bob Teague or Myrick Coil direct and ask them what their personal opinions are (these are guys that have put boats to the extreme for decades and undersatnd build quality differences). I was blown away to hear Bobs quote in Miami last year after he went out and ran the DW36- Myrick has access and is involved with both boats on a daily basis.

The cool thing about all this is years ago there were not too many choices for an O/B Cat but today is a different story. The boats tested are all a bit different including price points. Good news is competition makes all brands better and offer more to the consumer. It basically comes down to how you plan to use the boat. What is important to you. How much do you want to spend etc. Regarding size of these cats 360 versus 340 etc you should really look at the actual running surface. For example Dales 30 Skater proto type has no notch in the transom which makes it LOA close to 32'. The DW is more like a 34 they way the boat carries. I think MTI on some models also have no notch or can be ordered either way. All things come into play in the real world of running day to day. Matt really looking forward to results!

With plenty of fuel and four rednecks in Lifelines the little Skater 308 met a lovely Blue MTI 340 lumbering up the lake. One bat turn later the little Skater 308 pursues the mighty MTI 340 for a fun run only to find that a big bad white DW 360 has quickly appeared from nowhere. Cheerfully the rear seat passengers encourage the big bad DW 360 to run the little Skater 308 by letting them know that Skater surely is number 1 unbeknownst to the Skater’s captain. As the little Skater 308 turns and picks her line the big bad DW 360 makes it’s move. The little Skater exclaimed “I think I can I think I can!” But with time as they rolled along something strange began to happen! The big bad DW 360 and mighty MTI 340 appeared magically on the LOTO horizon. Again the little Skater 308 exclaimed “I think I can,”. As the Little Skater 308 hit her power band she overtook first the lumbering MTI 340 and then the DW 360! As She passed the two beauties she said to herself Maybe Skater really is number 1 after all. Now the new sayers May claim the little Skater had a better line or less fuel or a better setup or “Magic Mother Mercury CNC props or the unmentionable “Super Tune.” But the little Skater 308 that thought “it could” had a windshield mounted VIRB 360 to document this magic little Skater 308 moment and just went home to the Camden Supercat Fest pool bar for refreshments with a little less fuel and four big smiles. Morale of of the story is every cat has its day. Weather that day be smooth or rough water. Heavy load or improper setup. Wife on board or not��. But at the end of the day it’s all fun and good to be on the water running with everyone BTW yes I’m bored today and Tropical Storm Gordon is sitting on my head. Also Skater does not condone or endorse chewing cigars and running LOTO with DWs and MTIs. |
^^^^^ This is the same mentality Mad Props seems to have when running with bigger boats with 1100/1350s.

I'm betting DCB didn't bring every one of their sport cat lineup and smaller companies were probably not represented at all, for obvious reasons. Top speed isn't important since most of the time, the numbers are fantasy. But I'd like to know things like how does a 30wb Predator stack up against a 318 Skater, performance-wise. What's the build quality of a 32 Spectre compared to a DCB 31? I think the best LOOKING boat of all is the Pillini 34 so lets see what they all look like together. I get the "who is the fastest" thing but to me if I was going to cut a check for this kind of dough, I'd want to know the practical stuff.

I actually have no answer for that one. Arnaldo would doing everything he could to bring the boat there, but if the owner is not interested.... I'd like to strike a deal with the owner and find a driver for it in 2019 at LOTO...but I know my idea will be shot down . |

Definition- Practical Stuff: Things like handling and ride (not at top speed) in the rough; build quality; interior quality; overall finish; rigging; how warranty is handled; weight and dimensions; option list; cost, etc.
For example, I buy boat A that looks all shiny and perfect at first, but then I find that the paint falls off, or the boat is dangerous at speed, or the bow light doesn't work or the gas tank comes loose or whatever else happens. I find myself totally regretting blowing hundreds of thousands for the POS and just wish someone would steal it and run it through a big chipper in New York. Having "the fastest" makes someone big d!ck on campus, but to me, it all adds up together. BTW, Noli, the Predator is a great looking boat |
