I recently bought a diesel Formula 400ss. I know a couple of you guys have this package and have a couple questions about winterization. I'm quite capable with BBC gas and Bravo drives but how much different are these VP D-6 packages?
-These are closed cooled but do you run antifreeze up through muffs on the drive like you would a Bravo? (or do you supply antifreeze at the sea-strainer?)
-Oil/filter, etc seems straight forward but do you refill the fuel filter or simply screw a new one on empty and not worry about it?
-Haven't even looked at the Westerbeke gen but assume it's similarly straight-forward.
-Any guidance of those large clear fuel bowls on the port and starboard walls that appear to have a drain? The wiring to them is unplugged on mine and I don't even know what they are for.
-Freshwater system is simple with the exception of access to the tank is restricted through that single fill fitting does all on the stern. Still not an issue.
-ZINCS......this boat is missing all it's zincs on the drives. Got any info of what you're using (I can find it somewhere though)
