I wanted to comment, --- be careful about jumping across anything with exposed metal objects --- gas fumes and spark can go KA BOOM in an engine compartment in some cases. The chances are low but still exist. . .
I think it would best if you seeked out a real boat tech to get you going and pass on some educational advice -- tips and answers for any of the questions you may have.. IMO this would be the best way for you to get more acclimated with your boat up close and face to face. Good luck..

Good point .. Voodoo .... They are Merc Racing 525 Engines with fuel injection.. I am almost tempted to just take the boat in and so I can get a lesson on how this boat works ... I have never owned a self contained boat before ... I have had little runabouts but nothing like this before..

Use the forum to find some local powerboat enthusiast. Yes, sparks will fly trying to jump the solenoid. Run the blower first

I assume in a 38 you have twins. Both are not starting? 525's: turn on the key, do not start, hear the fuel pump? if yes, other issues, and yes, could be the safety switch. You might need to jiggle them a bit, turn them on and off a few times.

Change the fuel filters. Check for adequate fuel pressure and fire. Pull a plug wire insert a bolt and hold it close to the engine with plastic tongs in adequate ventilation and check for spark. If not one of those you have more serious issues.

In a 380, there is a breaker box under the bench seat on the back wall. I think there are breakers for the engines and the drives on that box. I'd start there, if you haven't checked it already.
