Been here since the beginning. I did not pay to be labeled a "Charter Member".
2277 posts in 18 years, I tend to read threads, watch videos posted, and mind my business, but I will chime in when I feel compelled to speak my mind or help someone. I like helping people; the sh*t talking can be left for the other members,of the OSO community, but in recent years the banter and sh*t talking has diminished too, the site has slowed down considerably

I think I just missed the "Charter Member" offer. Been here for a long time, since before I bought my first performance boat and it was 1999 model year. Don't visit too much as the boats are gone and other things have taken priority but I do pop in from time to time.

I didn't pay to be a charter member but I've been here since it was just a classified board with crappy basic graphics Cheng created to sell his used boats (no offense Jeffrey). I remember the announcement for charter members and the sticker with your member # and I think shirt that you got if I'm not mistaken.
When Jeff fist started OSO It was mostly west coast / S.C.O.P.E. guys in the very beginning but as social media etc started blowing up, and the boating world (world in general) got smaller people started to connect more over their passion for this hobby / sport. Information on various events were more readily available and as people visited other areas for events and made friends OSO was kind've their meeting ground. When Steve bought it he did a phenomenal job of promoting it going to a ton of events with the OSO cigarettes and really promoting the OSO brand. When he sold it to IB coupled with the economy crashing, that was pretty much the death of the era. But man, those early days of OSO was a lot of fun. I've made life long friends from all over the world via this website. I hear many people say often it was the best boating times they've ever had and some of the best times in their lives. I'd agree, there was something magical about it all.

I joined as soon as I found the joint. I bought my 1999 Sonic 26' Prowler kind of on a whim in May of 2001. I met another local guy who went by "CheckmateF1" and told me about OSO, and the rest is history. I got to know Jeffrey and Steve, and many others involved with OSO's success over the years; including hosting & assisting with a few massive parties in Miami and Virginia. I can't even begin to guess how many people and great friends I've met via OSO.
