Right there is one reason. Big sponsors track ROI and do it rather well. I bet overall that can be said for boat racing in general.

I'm not sure who will put the race on but if they change the dates I'll go postal. It took 10 years to get a room at Galleon and 12 years to get a slip.

IMSA has survived, but was reinvented and split (Grand AM, American LeMans Series) before being bought by The France (NASCAR) family. Was a long road to survive.
