Default 572 Quad Rotor Whipple Motors

Does anyone on the board have any info good, bad, or otherwise on 572 Quad Whipple Motors. They claim to be around 1100 H.P.

Thank-You for your reply AMBUSHER. I'd like to find all I can about these motors. I'am thinking about putting them in our 38 top gun. The one thing I'am concerned with (of course) is reliability. I don't want to messing with the motors constantly, as this is our family boat that will go fast when need be. It may also pull ski racers a couple times a year.

I know of a twin setup with VI's in the Nothern VA area, in a 1989 38' Top Gun. Very impressive and fast as all get-out. Andy Anderson is his name I believe.

Good advice IMO, thats what I was always told. Also better and wider torque band with longer rod, right?

I don't know about a 572, but a friend had a Teague 509 with a Quadrotor setup with Demon carbs. First pull on the Dyno was 1045 hp. They detuned down to about 850 and he had about 60 hours on the motor without problems until it was stolen with his boat. I think he was running about 6# of boost.

Another question, Zul 900 is a 653 cu in. 5 inch stroke and I think 4.560
Bore. Seems pretty radical to start with that combo, what do you think?

Been thinking about a 588, starting with 4.750 stroke, .400 long rod and 4.400 bore. Room for later, good recip assy, happy combo?

Or, 572 4.500x4.500 also .400 long rod??? Both would be with 10.71 SC

Opinions anyone???

Thanks, Dean
