Question nose cones

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this. I've noticed several under 30' race boats, w/ B1 drive and no "nose cone" I thought they were to gain every ounce of speed? Am I missing something?

It all depends on the speed they are going AND the depth of the prop.
My boat does 112 MPH and a nose cone doesn't help me one bit. Because the point on my drive is out of the water at speed.
At speeds over 90 MPH the water only hits the bottom of the bullet in front of the prop.
Race boat usually run a high X dimension.
It also might be a class that doesn't allow the nose cone.
