Dean F.......Like you, I have 572 cu. in. power (but times 2) in my 35' Cigarette .........over the summer I installed 2 new pairs of Imco powerflow plus manifolds and 30* risers
Because they're aluminum salt is gonna kill them faster then I need to know especially after spending $5,500 ...the previous pair of Imco's lasted less than 5 years. I won't subject my engines and manifolds now to salt again unless I can find a full FWC system. .........but who makes big cu. in. systems and where to find them? |
Well , looks like all that is available for a full system , is the system from CP , and it requires there serpentine system .

Off engine exchanger looks to be the only option for what we are "looking for".. May have to settle for a engine only system..

I run my engine idling on the stands while water recirculates in a 50 gallon drum, in 10 minutes the water is steaming hot. I can only imagine at WOT trying to cool water in a full system including headers.

KE has done some closed cooling on some decent sized supercharged packages I know. Doubt if he did the exhaust. I ran some Monitor exchangers on 900 hp with aluminum heads, blowers etc. and smaller packages using a good circulating pump and KE's 2 and 3 stage water pumps. Was always told that to cool the exhaust as well would take a really big exchanger, more than I ever had room for. Figure out what your hp is and call Monitor. They should be able to guide you through it.

Thank you Bob for that information, Orca emailed me back today -
Hello Eric, OK the stock kit will not work for that much horse power you’ll have to do a remote mount heat exchanger and expansion tank. Heat ex part #501919 good up to 800 HP will work the list price is $1,751.00 USD and a 4 qt expansion tank for $301.00.00 USD And all you would have to do is find mounting that works for your boat and plum it in. Drawing attached. Regards, Steve Walsh Sales Manager [email protected] |
