Not here, it's the best time of the year to boat in Paradise......

Dean Ferry 12-06-2018 09:46 AM

And I just took my Bimini tops of the boats, don't need them this time of year....

Winter definitely doesn't suck. Braap !

It probably sounds crazy but living in a hot climate all year round, I actually miss the seasons. Just once I'd like to wake up to a chilly morning with frost on the grass. Maybe have to wear more than shorts and a T-shirt every day and even buy a pair of long pants!

Life's still pretty good, with or without snow. :)

Yes actually that does sound crazy!!! As I sit here at work wearing three sets of long johns, a sweatshirt, two coats, two sets of gloves and two hats I can tell you you certainly have lost your mind!! LOL

P.S. and I'm still f-in cold!

PA.WOODCHUCK 12-06-2018 07:16 PM

I'm hibernating only for another 4 months..

That's a bit out there ^^^^^ We're in winter here at the moment, looks something like this.......
(Before anyone asks, I know it says "10 day forecast" but Thais can't count. They actually show 14 days but I cut the bottom of on my screenshot)

Something in between your extremes and my balmy climate would do nicely for a day or two!

I don't think I would be sleeping so well when a military dictator is running the country, but whatever floats your boat :drink:

Dont worry, it's not like North Korea!
I think the general will get elected next year and perhaps not the best man for the job, given the alternatives, he's not the worst either. :)

Sorry, back to winter....... had my last fix in 2016 in Italy, visited Monte Bianco with the gf. Threw some snowballs at her fat head in an attempt to knock the braces off her teeth, then retired inside by the fire. It was actually a highlight of the trip.
Friend of mine (on the right) lives in Italy and he provided all the warm clothing!

I used to enjoy skiing and I did it a lot. Now, however, as I get older, I can't stand the thought of getting up at the crack of dawn to go outside and freeze my arse off!!! I do like to ride my snowmobile but here in NE PA, we don't get enough snow anymore. I would much prefer being in shorts and a t-shirt on the water!!

What's cold for you? 40 degrees? We are still short on snow for skiing way up here in the Seattle area.

BBYSTWY 12-07-2018 07:20 PM

Here in SW Michigan...its almost winter today low 20's....could be early spring tomorrow high 30's...next Friday is looking good up to 40....rain, rain, freezing rain, black ice on roads, eventually a huge dump of snow around mid January then consistent snow till end of feb....maybe...could be 70 next Tuesday hahahaha

I’m with you. After living in Miami for a couple years, it gets old. And I hate the cold. Up in North florida we get just enough of the seasons for me.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Yea the weather is great and it’s a lot of fun to visit but I have zero ambition to live in the south or southwest, too many people, and when you have too many people your bound to have too many freaks.

Not to mention hurricanes!

About perfect today. Probably go by the warehouse later to drop the carpet back in the Skater. The New Year's run in Sarasota is getting close.

madbouyz 12-08-2018 12:32 PM

Actually I like a winter break out here. The 85-90f with 85+ humidity is tiring , very tiring , as you get older . Plus , the hurricanes take a 6 month hiatus. And I HATE hurricanes .

Who says you can't boat in the winter in the Midwest? Was down at LOTO over the weekend trying to secure a new lift/slip for the boat. Afterwards, stopped by Redhead's for a beer and a bite. Had to look twice to believe what I saw coming in to the cove. Now this is boating dedication. 10 peeps on board for a girl's bday party. Stuck around to party with the group.

Any number with a three in front of it and below. I know many on here have it much worse temperature wise and I really feel for them I can't imagine living in the minus temperatures ugh. I admit I'm a sissy when it comes to being cold though lol.

Ya, MD winter is just enough to keep you off the water, but not enough for winter sports. That said, I'm still OK with winter, spring, summer, and fall too.

-24 and -26 the past two mornings in SE WI. Talked to guys who live in the sticks in northern WI that said they saw -38, that’s without any windchill, -60s with windchills. Absolutely brutal and painful. Wrapping up the extension cord from having the block heater plugged in is comical. This Sunday and Monday it’s supposed to be mid 40s, that’s a 60-70 degree swing, like going from 30 degrees to 90-100.

First pic is the snow drift at my door, the next is at the end of the driveway. I had to wait until the municipal blower came down my road to even think of getting out, good thing I know his cell number a was able to reach out to him!

I love this time of year.
The colder the better, it`s great for business.
-24 the other day just means I turn on the heated jacket to high and wear a hat. Not the end of the world like the news would have you believe.
I`m dreading this 50* weather in the next few days.. it`s a white beautiful wonderland right now.. rain pisses me off, should be more snow.

I live in slinger, but travel all over the state, MN and da UP for work. It can only get warmer from here right?! I don’t mind it when the temps are in the teens, I can still get out and go for a run in that. Single digits are ok... Any wind gets painful when there’s a dash in front of the number.

f_inscreenname 02-01-2019 12:27 PM

This winter has just been a pile on of the rest of the year. We had the wettest week, month (July of all months) and year on record in these parts. Worse yet we beat the rain record in Mid November with weeks still to go. We also had many un-named wind storms that ripped roofs off of houses this spring. Luckily we got past them with just some shingle damage and all of this was after the winter that never seemed to end last spring. Just re-upped my boat's towing insurance. Got high hopes this year. Fingers are crossed.

I agree, if it’s going to be winter it might as well be cold. I just got our ice rink the way I want it and now going to be 50 on Monday. Pisses me off
