I think I'm going to the Hydromotive Q4x next. Heard good things about them.

Local guy has a 2008 35ft Donzi ZR with 496 HO.

I do not remember the year but back when my shops work on bass boats - we seen many Merc props with cracked blades. And they were not from impact damage either.

I’ve never had a problem with cracked or throwing blades. I’ve been running the same labbed 30 bravo for about 12 years now with 825hp. May just be luck of the draw with the casting process. |

I have a Q4x I run on my boat a lot. It’s got a little less slip than a bravo one and handles about the same. I’ve never had a problem with cracked or throwing blades. When you said less slip, if I ran a 28 B1, I should start with a 27 Hydromotive Q4x

B38, how did you know the prop was cracked? Vibration, or did you see it while stopped? |
