I've had the same thing happen with a 28P bravo. This was on a light boat w/496HO.

Seen it on stock 30P Bravo I's. Blade breaks clean off.

Kinda scary blades breaking off. Is it the design, or cheap casting.
I'm going to Hydromotive Q4x and hope they dont break.

I would also look at Cutting Edge Propeller.

I don’t know what the problem is, but I’m just gonna pin false hope on it only being the higher pitched versions..... I love the way my 22p performs and have a 24p planned for spring/fall air. This thread is definitely killing my mood, though.

I talked to the Mercury Rep in KW this year about this problem, he didn't seem to think, blades cracking at 150 hours was a short time. He did tell me to take a file and file the leading edge all the way to the hub.

Have you seen the finish work on new Bravo I props lately? Sucks.

goinboatin 12-10-2018 11:05 AM

threw a blade off a 24p bravo one in 2007/8 ish. Behind a 300 hp outboard (I did surface it though)

Tinkerer 12-10-2018 08:24 PM

Mine is fully surfaced and I had about 6 hours on it.
