Default Livorsi/Gaffrig GPS speedo feedback..

Going to do a GPS speedo and tach upgrade and wondering if anyone is using the Gaffrig digital GPS speedo and how U like it compared to analog? Will the GPS function if the antenna is mounted high under the dash? IS Gaffrig's now made by Autometer? Pricing is much better on Gaffrig saving about $250 over Livorsi according to their site?

thanks

I have both monster analog GPS and digital on my Lowrance GPS. There is something about the analog dial that is pretty cool. Passengers can easily see it rom anywhere in cockpit, which i find they typically like to see how fast we are going.

My antenna is on my dash (puck), though the installation instructions read that you can mount under dash, but mentions testing.

Yes, you can mount the puck under the dash. However, assuming you have a GPS, I wouldn't bother getting the puck and use NMEA 0183 output from the GPS.

No GPS onboard, engine is pre-smartcraft and since speedo and tach are "happy" just wanted to upgrade them.
