But below the center cushion there is also a warning that there shouldn’t be anyone in the bow when on plane...

Ok, for the record I have been boating on this river for 18 years. I would not do anything to put my kids or any other passengers in danger. The desire for an open bow with good speed is so we have room for our family when we are out for a cruise but when it's just my wife and I want a boat that can get up and go. I'm aware of all the safety rules and recommendation that come with open bows and how fast you should travel with people in the front. Pushed our first open bow to around 60 with other experienced boaters that felt 100% comfortable with how I drive a boat and the conditions of the water. It was a let's see what this thing can do on a straight shot then we slowed it down and cruised the river at 30-35mph. I appreciate all the suggestion to be aware of risks and what I need to do to be safe.
Obviously we are not going to do something that is reckless. My wife is 69 years old and i would never do anything to make her or her friends uncomfortable.
As far as c of g- Not enough to make a difference on my boat- love to throw er in some nice turns , usually only 2 passengers up front. If more or someone is facing you with there back to the bow, all the way up front, that will be a different scenario . We boat in the finger lakes or Lake Ontario. Any of them can kick up ,but Ontario can get just plain snotty . We boat accordingly.
I have done a few non sanctioned poker runs ( boat and floats ). - we leave the girls home for those.
i can guarantee anyone that they would be a whole lot more comfortable in my open bow than a whole bunch of you tearing it up in the lakes and oceans - After all- This is OSO right?

My wife would have been up front but it was prety cold that fall evening running 25 miles back from Oswego after dinner.
you can see there is someone up front in the boat i am running with. That's a 29 ' active thunder open bow.
we are doing about 68 - 69 there

I think most folks here have matured beyond the mentality of a jet skier, and are generally cautious about not tossing their loved ones into the bay. Any captain above worthy of the Darwin Award can make prudent decisions.
Those deck boats seem like sweet fun.

I have a 28 Donzi ZXO. They are a bit slower than the standard 28zx due to the aero. Very good bottom, run very well. I have had as many as 12 on board with no issues. IMO the 28 donzi is better than the sensation because you get twins and is faster. Sensation is a good boat though
