Default Looking for info 353 Fastech and 31SS Sonic

I currently own a 99 353 Fastech powered with carb HP 500’s. I have a potential buyer and I’m looking at a 2004 Sonic 31SS powered with HP 525’s. Wondering how much of a difference in cockpit space there is between the two? Also how much of a difference in ride is there going to be? Trying to decide if it’s worth selling the 353 and moving into the Sonic? Any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Cockpit is much smaller in the Sonic 31. Narrower due to walk around and less room between backseat and bolsters.

Why go smaller? the sonic will ride a tad more solid, but much smaller space to be had..

My thoughts on going 4ft smaller was, The Sonic has better power and drive package than I do in the formula. While still having all the amenities down in the cabin. sink, fridge, toilet, stove top etc. But I like the size of the space I have in the formula. As I’ve never been in a Sonic to see how much room there actually is in the cockpit.

Always really liked those 353 Fas-techs. Not sure I would ever sell one of those unless I was going to a bigger Cig, Nor-tech, MTI, OL or Skater.

I think you will regret that move....

i agree, even though you are looking at a 525 boat, I bet the speed and performance would virtually be a wash. And the fastech size/cockpit is larger.

Spent a lot of time on both boats. Aside from the sonic being fuel injected, the 353 is a better choice.

It all comes down to what your going to be happy with in the end. But I would say keep the formula. Personal opinion for me but if I were you I’d keep what you have. Like the others said if your going for a upgrade do a cig or something along those lines.

We own a 353 Fastech and have a buddy with 31 sonic...no comparison...the sonic rides like a mule compared to our Fastech. He’s actually slower than us and he’s always stating how much he wishes he had bought a Fastech. Stay with what you have...or you can buy our Fastech. 675hp per side , Imco ext boxes, XR drives. Completely redone 2017. Drivetrain has 21 hrs on it. Boat is listed ....
good luck.
