Way cool!
Always wanted to do that.

When we were at our favorite hotel on Lake Eries shoreline 2 wks ago, I found a live cam at Put in Bay and there was a guy ice boating past the camera!
I watched him for at least two beers. He'd sail past, right in front of the camera and then a 1/2 mile into the distance before turning and coming back.
Tons of ice boating in the Erie islands history but not sure how many winters they get smooth ice.

I used to skate anywhere/everywhere when I was young and it was the same issue for that.

My dad had sail boats the whole time he had power boats and I always enjoyed them.

Ive heard the stories of how fast those ice boats are on good ice w/a strong wind ;)

This was some great ice we had in late March last winter after a big thaw and refreeze. Elk Lake, northern Michigan. ed

I went from powerboats to this and never sailed on water so I had/have a lot to learn. I've seen the low 60's and those better than me get into the 70's. Principles of conventional sailing are similar just significantly faster. This boat is a bit deceptive, under that wood are structural foam bulkheads and the bottom has a layer of carbon fiber. ed

Twin OB, you have the same cell number as you had a few years ago? We may go to Port Clinton this weekend and if so will send you a text.

I think we are going up next weekend too. We are actually riding up tomorrow too. Need something to do. February/March, not good. No football and nothing to do.

Or you could get the Pantera done before Sept..... spend winter wrenching!!
