School me on Nor-tech's

Been browsing boats as I always do seeing what's out there and up comes this 2000 38v nor-tech in the classifieds...I have seen limited 39's for sale but this is the first 38 I have seen and can't find another one...found a thread talking about not recommending a pre 02-03 Nor-tech..is there a reason for that?? Not up on the Nor-tech info whatsoever and I always thought they would be so far out of my price range I shouldn't even look however I have been seeing that may not be the case....so what's up with a 38 NT?? Good boat? Nightmare? Rough water ride, cabin size, etc?

Is it possible this is actually a 39 that was fat fingered?? lol or are the 2 not able to be mistaken for one another??

Thanks guys!!

Glad I'm not the only one!! hahah I did look on NADA and the only 2000 model year nor-tech they list is a 38 v so it at least exists to them!! lol

39 wasn't released until mid-2000's. I was on what I believe to be the first one at the Miami boat show in '05.

I think there was a thread or some posts about it a while ago if you really dig.

39 Nortech is a totally new design. New bottom design, new deck, new cockpit, etc...... The 39 Nortechs were very fast with stock Mercury 525's, and would run around 90.

I was always told the 38 NT is a straight bottom Top Gun blocked for the baby steps, with styling ques from the deck as well.

I was told the bottom was from a 35 Cig -- so could be a blocked 38 mold... then the steps were added.

My buddy has the old race boat with 700's and arnesons, runs in the mid 90's and has never really been set up 100%. rides well in Lake Erie...It is a solid boat

35 Cig Cafe bottom with steps and integrated swim platform added is what I have been told.
I have seen about 6-8 different 38 NT's for sale over the years and always liked the looks of them. Classic lines with a deep freeboard and good cabin height.
I have never really heard anything negative about them and from what I have seen, they run about 80 with 500's.
