New Michigan law????
https://www.wnem.com/news/rep-plans-...199de1492.html
it wouldn’t affect me as I boat on Lake Huron but seems ridiculous.

At an inland lake in Ontario, you could be fined for yelling, shouting or singing too loudly

Thankfully I'm on lake Huron where the noise law is "must have a muffler if operating within 5 nautical miles of shore"

Herein lies the difference between the spirit and the letter of the law.
Elected official claims the spirit is to enhance boating activities on inland lakes.
The letter of the law proposed by same Rep. basically states “no boating between sunset and 8am”.
So, the alleged intent is to enhance boating opportunities, and a team of “legal geniuses”, whom regularly draft legislation, introduced a bill which restricts boating opportunities. We’re supposed to believe it was an “accident”? Sure sounds like we’re being sold a bill of goods here.
I weep for this state, and already left a message with my district Rep.

I emailed the representative who sponsored and wrote this bill a few days ago. Here is his reply.
"
"I introduced HB 4362 to allow for more time to enjoy on Michigan's inland lakes-unfortunately, the way the bill was written does the opposite. Please know that I am in the process of drafting alternative language to more clearly attain my goal of making our state's waters more accessible to all."
I hope this clarification helps. I look forward to greater accessibility to our inland lakes. Thank you for your understanding and patience while corrected bill language is drafted”
