Default Fountain 38 LX replacement front windshield

I’m trying to find a replacement front windshield for a 2007 Fountain 38 LX Luxury Sportfish. It is a four piece item. The side panels are flat and easily replaced locally. Unfortunately, the front two pieces are curved and have been very hard to locate. Locally, they can make a mold from the old one and pour a new custom acrylic windshield but that option is very pricey. Any ideas on how or where to find a replacement windshield for the 38LX? I was having the windshield frame cleaned and powder coated. It’s apart but the front shield looks very cloudy now that it’s off, especially next to the new side pieces. I’m holding up reassembly until we can decide to find a replacement or reinstall the old one. Any advice or leads? Thanks.

Taylor Made Systems | Windshields

Did you try this company ? There's a good possibility they made yours. They made the windshield for my Fountain, different model then yours.

Forget the old looking windshield and just go with isenglass from the top to the receiver in the deck. Most intrepid owners do this and it makes the boat look a lot newer. We did it with ours. Look at Intrepid 377’s and you’ll see what I mean. Our 40 Intrepid is build with a windshield coming off the deck like your fountain, and then they run the isenglass to the top off of the windshield, but eliminating the windshield gives it a lot cleaner look.

Would love to know this as well. I just got done removing, powder coating and reinstalling mine, but went back with the old acrylic. I couldn't find the acrylic or the vinyls. Taylor Made didn't have any information and I couldn't even get anyone at Fountain to call me back. You know they have the information too, which is frustrating. They don't seem to give a sh*t about their older boats, which is pretty short sighted if you ask me.

I spoke to them today. Iconic Marine took over the Fountain line in 2016. They recently had a big reorganization and the parts department is basically not operational until they get it organized. They were very helpful though and sent me any information they had to get me pointed in the right direction. No luck yet tho, except for the custom made one at $2,300 for the front two panels of just the glass. Side panels were easily made at $100 a piece. The prep and powder coat for the frame looks like $450. Of course labor to remove, drill out and retap frozen screws, remove and replace seals is about $1,000. From what I’ve seen, if one was already out there somewhere, the entire assembly, two front panels and two sides along with the frame should be had for under $2,000. It would be nice to get it reasonably replaced now that the old assembly is off and the labor cost already eaten. I’ll post if I find anything.

Have you tried buffing out the old acrylic windshield????????
As long as its not cracked or crazing, it should be able to be buffed out.

Having the hullsides painted along with freshening /replacing the front windshield. The guys in the paint shop have a lot of experience with this. They told me that the front panels have no crazing but the cloudiness is in the glass. Said they tried to buff it out but with no luck.?

Did you ever find a replacement? I too have a 38 ft Fountain that needs a new Windshield.
