Sonic lovers, let's see some photos.
All in all the Sonic I chosen was from years of boating and figuring out what I want in a powerboat.
Must be a wave crusher Must be twins Basic cabin features with head and shower Traditional fairing, not rounded windshield No gay seats setup. Bolsters. No left hand sticks. Not a regi fan. 2000 and up for lightweight layup and materials. Bravo XR drives with ITS, yes ITS! I'm installing ITS By next week friday she should be at my home. 👍https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...92a2feb2a.jpeg does anyone recognize my new girl. She was in Florida before Nevada. Now coming back to Florida. |
Nice Rig Kurt, congrats on the new sled.. you will love the ITS ,had it on my Superboat Y2K..

Nice brand in fact ! :) |

Very nice. Love the clean lines of a Sonic
|
I had a '03 31 for 5 years. Lots of great memories in that boat. Definitely a well-built wave crusher.

I love the 31’s. If I was going to make the switch from O/Bs to I/Os a 31 would be top of my list. |

Vagrant, know the boat very well!! A lot of stories (all good) with it. Ed |
Some nice looking Sonics on this thread, I've always read good things about them, probably deserve more recognition. Reposted for Nate..... |
Sonic 31 is one of my favorite boats. I would love to have one. Just love the way it sits in the water and the nice lines
|
Agreed. Every line is perfect. Doesnt have to be an 80 MPH boat.

Two boats I've always thought sit beautifully at rest, very different boats but they both sit bow up like they're ready to pounce, Sonic 31 and not wanting to offend anyone, :)....... Fountain 32. (but the Soni doesn't look like it's sinking. :D) RR |

Once again, out of all the styles of boats out there the Sonic seems to be best. Don't forget the notched transom, huge difference in performance. My 2 cents. I have many , many hours behind the sticks, one figures out what he likes. |

Kurt.....sorry I can't post photos here anymore, but on my boat co website there are tons of photos of the now known Sonic. Charlie McCarthy's banana boat co
It started in November of 1977 when I hired JC Simon, to design a new 38 foot Open Class race boat for me at the races in Key West, where Betty Cook had just won her World Championship. Delivery was slow and I did not get to race it until 1979, as Top Banana in the Bushmills 1979 race in California. Video on Youtube...put in search engine....Bushmills1979 Banana Boat's became Coyote boats and then Sonic's. The 38 foot mold was designed to be blocked at 34 feet so many of the Production class racers back then were pulled from that same mold...lot's of photos on the website under racing section. Good choice on your Sonic...Best of luck with it. |
Back on the water soon...

Ran a 31 for a decade here at LOTO and it handled the constant washing machine nicely. Best in class in the rough. The 386 I have now is in the middle of being repowered and should be on the water in a couple weeks. |
When I wAtched this video (gorgeous!)on YouTube, the next video to auto play was a broker/sales ad for a beautiful 31’ in Md.

I have many , many hours behind the sticks, one figures out what he likes. Is nt the notched transom hulls the ones that porpoises at certain speeds compared to the NON notched transom ? The 35 if I recall certain years porpoised more than any other Sonic models ? |

Almost bought a 28’ in Fla w/twin V-8 JohnRudes. Would have been a total re-rig but the motors were rock solid. And didn’t even think of posting pixs of my old babies. First one was a ‘84 24’ that I spent 7 yrs trying to destroy in Lake Erie. Loved that boat. Second one was an ‘85 and spent 7 yrs cruising the Intracoastal and Keys in Fla. If my Checkmate project is half as much fun I will be a happy guy. |
She made it home. I'm happy.

So which boat are you bringing to the Jax run? Bertram or Sonic? Nice boat Kurt! Roscoe |
Bertram is turn key, so yes B38 will be at Jacksonville. Are you going.
