Question Rear main seal issue ?

Hey folks

This may be a bit of a stupid question but I'd just like to make sure. I recently bought a 350 SBC I know the basic stuff and I'm in the process of learning about these engines. When I hoisted it to raise it a bit the engine was leaning backwards a bit so basically the flywheel was down and the pulleys were higher. I noticed oil slowly leaking out of the area by where the flywheel mounts. Could this be a rear main seal issue or just because the engine was tilted ?

Thanks !

If the seal is letting oil pass by from gravity, it will not likely withstand crankcase pressure when engine is running. Might be a good time to look at doing main bearings and seals
