Default Boat battery wiring

Well, in a rush this fall... I didn’t pay attention to how the battery was hooked up and quickly unhooked it. I have (4)red, (2)black and one white wire. I know that the red is positive and black is negative... I’m guessing the white it neutral and goes on the ground but it seems shorter like it’s suppose to go on the positive. Anyone know?

You’re going to have to follow it and see where it goes.

Well to help isolate it, dont hook it up and see what doesnt work, Then you have some idea of how to trace it...

White neutral ?? goes to ground ?? you must be an electrician ......dont hook it to anything till you find the other end,,,,,2 batteries ? single engine, make sure the perko switch is in the off position before hooking up the batteries

If it goes to the bilge pump it's probably a hot/positive for the auto bilge if equipped however those are generally brown not white...like others have said don't hook it to anything until you figure out what its for

yes, I’m thinking it’s a positive wire, the bilge wire is a grey one that they spliced into a white one (probably to indicate its a positive wire) sound right?

white wire was the positive for the rocker panel bilge, had an issue with the automatic bilge, wouldn’t turn off. I just ended up taking off the power for the automatic.... but yes, the white wire was for power.
