Daytona ignition vs MSD ready to run ?
Loosing CDI boxes. Heard Ready to run are good replacement. Input? |
So you’re having issues with the Daytona boxes? How often? What are they doing? I’ve had them now for almost 100 hours problem free. Haven’t heard of many having issues so I’m curious. |
$20 he is losing MSD boxes. Any takers? :)

They are nice ignitions but do I really need them for my application. It’s on my Formula 382. They were on there when I bought the boat. Just heard the MSD ready to run are easier less complicated. Not a gear head at all. So needing a computer to set these up fine tune and dialing in just for a pleasure boats seems like a over kill ? I’m very open to opinions. Thank you , |

Curious about the failure or cause of. Are these the marine boxes? Have you called daytona to discuss the failures? The MSD as a whole has left a lot of people stranded. Some even carry an extra box due to common failures. I love the Daytona boxes and they have a lot of nice features. Did both fail at once? Is this a repetitive failure? |
Extra boxes?? lol... Mounted and within reach to plug in.. Also mounted on the rubber feet and behind the mounting plate is 2 layers of Dynamat

Why not just a simple HEI like DUI? 2 wires.... pretty simple and won’t rust (as quick or bad) like the MSD products. |
