Daytona ignition vs MSD ready to run ?

They are nice ignitions but do I really need them for my application. It’s on my Formula 382.
They were on there when I bought the boat.
Just heard the MSD ready to run are easier less complicated.
Not a gear head at all. So needing a computer to set these up fine tune and dialing in just for a pleasure boats seems like a over kill ? I’m very open to opinions.

Curious about the failure or cause of. Are these the marine boxes? Have you called daytona to discuss the failures? The MSD as a whole has left a lot of people stranded. Some even carry an extra box due to common failures. I love the Daytona boxes and they have a lot of nice features. Did both fail at once? Is this a repetitive failure?
