You seem pretty set on the pachanga, and I agree it's a good looking boat. I think you would be impressed with the space the 223ls formula has. The cuddy is easy to get in and out of. I know of 2 in my area with the 454 mag and they both do 60. They hold 75 gallons of gas so you dont have to worry about long rides and running out. The cockpit is larger with the 8.5' beam and pretty spacious.

The reason I keep mentioning the formula is because I have a 3 week old son and the formula I have is grea . The wife can put him in the cabin if it gets cold and they are comfortable. I have space for all the extra stuff I need with the young kid. Also you could look into the 223SS which would give you a smaller cabin and more cockpit space.

Certainly NOT ruling out a the smaller Forumlas. What year did they start coming with the molded swim platform?

im partial to the pachangas myself. get one with a bravo. mild power will put it in the 70's ive never put mine in lake erie but i have been on lake st clair in a storm and made it no problems. the windshield is also very nice its nice to be able to cruise and talk or listen to music not at a deafening level especially with the baby. me and the wife have also overnighted on ours countless times. we now also have a baby and go out all the time. we have not stayed out with the baby yet but more than likely will as she is now two this year.

I rebuilt a 22 Pachanga for a friend in Ocean City MD. He is old and looking to sell it. If you are interested, you can call me and I will get all the info from my files.

Powerquest 22 Razor may fit the bill too.

I like the looks of old Formulas. I'm thinking of getting something with a cuddy cabin. I'm now putting Formula on my list with the Pachanga's.

Formula started with the bolted on silent thunder in 87 for the most part. Some in 86 depending on the model. Good luck with your search.

I didn't post that???

NO only 1 divorce. I was looking at a friends Scarab at the time. Life "issues" and someone thinking that friends boat was worth more than either of us did, he sold it for about 3X's he was selling to me. I would go out in his OTHER Scarab, or other friends boats when the time came up.

Went back, concentrated on work and life. Now time to get back to the water in something of my own again.

Thanks

FYI never did buy the sport cuddy, We ended up getting a sport cruiser I guess you would call it. We purchased a Thundercraft Temptation 265. Nice boat, few small issues that were working thru. Nice to have a 26.5ft boat with twin 4.3 and Alpha drives. So were floating around lake Erie on it and have trailered it north to Trent-Severn and did 1000 Islands as well this summer.

BUT we are already hit with "2-foot-itice" and looking at either 280 Formula SS, Powerquest 280Sc or Chaparral 285 SSi.
