Default 2006 25 outlaw 496 HO

Who is a guru on 25 outlaw 496 HO?? This is my second 25 outlaw the first one had the 502 with lightning headers. I seen 68 with it. I can’t hit 60 with this 496 ho. X drive. 23 mirage plus. Won’t turn 5000 rpms. It’s like 45-47. Any suggestions or is this boat that much slower. Only has 300 hrs.

Are you sure the engine is not in Guardian mode?

I’m going to put it on the computer Wednesday. I was thinking if it was on guardian mode the rpms would be lower. Like 3-3500. Boat runs great no missing just seems like something is holding it back.

I had a 2003 25 baja with a 496HO in it and it would go 67 with the same prop you are running and turn right at 5k rpms. sounds like if you aren't getting above 4500 rpms then the computer might be limiting that, you will be able to see why with the computer more than likely

My buddy had one. It was 67-68 mph boat with the 496 HO. Should spin 5000. I think the rev limiter is 5150 or somewhere in that ballpark. Something is up.

I think the same thing. Guardian mode. I’m going to put it on computer Wednesday, and check everything. Change spark plugs, and go from there. Thanks for all the input.

Never use “hole shot” and a Bravo/performance boat in the same thought. It’s not a jet boat/ski. That’s how you find yourself paddling in with a broken drive.

I’m meaning that my 2000 502 came out of the hole and got on plane way faster, and wanting to know how others with 496 hos do. I used to run drag boats so I know the meaning of hole shot.
