The 300R waiting list guys should probably hang up the phone, salvage the rest of this (or next) season, and just put their name on the 450R list. Coming whenever Merc is dammed good and ready. The release date and the delivery date are two very different things.

If it’s really 689lbs, some of the builders will need the extra time to fab up some more transom knees, anyway.

Even if I could afford to repower with these now, & even if they were available now, I'd still worry about adding 370lbs BEHIND my transom. We run in decent size water and that would significantly change the CG on our 308 Skater.
