After boating on Lake Michigan out of Chicago for 30 years I can tell you that is completely typical. I cannot remember the number of times we ran over to Saugatuck and got stuck there when the lake piled up.

I was right behind these guys in my 27 Fountain and we turned around when we saw the rollers coming down the channel! Lake Charleviox had 1-2's and wasn't bad at all. Michigan on the other hand was pissed off!
