I'm getting too old to want to deal with problems and the headers seem like they are a potential failure mode. Since I don't need to be the fastest guy on the lake or ICW I could really care less about the power especially if it's going to bring headaches. However, if we look at used we'll need to be open to variations of engines and need to be prepared with the info.
Just be aware that most of those single engine deckboats don't run all that well with moderate power. Especially once you put a bunch of people in the front of them, they get underpowered pretty quick. If you're not already, go over to riverdavesplace.com and you can get a lot of good info on those model boats and ask questions, theres a bunch of guys who have them. A friend from ATL is trading in this 28 Interceptor deck boat if that interests you, its crazy clean: https://www.riverdavesplace.com/foru...culate.204838/
