So could this boat run home on plane with 3 engines or even 2 engines? One spinning each wheel or are the wheels too big?

The wheels are too big for one engine to spin it fast enough to get it on plane , and with only one engine in gear for any amount of time it will over heat the other transmission

Quad Outerlimits at different ends of the spectrum.

So many stories surrounding this boat when it sank back in 1999, and none of them were pleasant to hear. That goes with regards to both the disappointing performance by her and the business dealings involved. Never thought I'd see her float again. Hope she doesn't happen to become an insurance claim in the near future. The quad modded diesel Outerlimits Carbon SV-52 FPT/(Volvo Penta), on the other hand, has always been surrounded by positive accomplishments. Right now she's being perfected by the best diesel wizards there are in the biz, and will be something very unique. I can't wait 'till she flies at 120 mph plus in honor of the late Fabio Buzzi.

Good job stealing the thread! That’s an apples to oranges comparison of boats.

Sorry I fail to see the similarities between those two boats

Neither do I. I saw the boat at Rodney's shop when we were blocking up Kevin's Apache after a trailer problem. Its a cool piece and the setup is totally different. Not to mention its a pleasure boat. Never understand why people on OSO bring up all the negative stuff. Kudos for Rodney even attempting to bring back this cool piece. 99.99999% wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole even if the bilge was full of cash...lol

Definitely a cool piece whether it has "history" or not. There is very little information around about it though.

I was hoping to hear about a disengagement mechanism/clutch system so it could run on 2 engines.

Id think the gear drive that connects the drive shafts to the prop shaft is direct drive ?? :readinghelp: when one of the trans are put in gear the prop is turning, front or rear engines, its a heavy beast and needs all 4k HP to get it on.......:boat:

Not some kind of over running clutch like on a tractor pto
