Well $50 X 25 years = $1250 of investment, so technically it doesn’t beat it;)

Still good to have though, imo.

^^This. I've always had BoatUS.

Where do you get sea tow for $50 a year? Lol

Boat US with Trailer Guard AND AAA here. No matter how many engines you have they won't help get you out of a hard grounding situation nor will they help with a catastrophic trailer issue. BoatUS plus also hauls your boat out in the event of a hurricane and other perils. Hell the trailer guard is $15 a year, laughable not to opt. in.

I need to get Sea tow again, I was nervous everytime I was in the Sound this year. Well worth the small investment. Esp since I am single engine powered.

Sometimes the Sound is like that river out west, sometimes it's friggin brutal, I'd hate to be stuck in The Race without power. I take it the eastern end of the Sound is your playground?

Yeah it really can get nasty sometimes. Correct we come out the CT river in Old Saybrook. Greenport, Montauk, Watch Hill are some of my favorite spots to head too. Just beautiful out there. This summer tho I really didn't take my boat out in the Sound much other than to Soundview a few times so wasnt really that worried about it. Dad has a 37' so jumped on his instead for the far trips, much better ride obviously for my 3 young kids.

I think you should see how much it is now. More like $116.00 and more. Per year.
Over double.

Tom,

I had one two with BoatUS that would have cost me well over $3k had I not had the "gold" level of towing through them. My buddy and I broke a drive about 45 miles from the ramp. The tow was going to be at night across the Chesapeake Bay and into the Atlantic to get back to the inlet and our trailer (granted we could have been towed closer in and worked out a way to get the trailer to us). The meter starts running as soon as the boat leaves to come get you so the dollars add up fast! The ride back was interesting/fun, and it only cost my $50 dollars out of pocket as well as some beer to give the guy for a tip (all we had on us). I think the cost back them was $125 for unlimited towing... maybe $180 now?. That one tow sold me and I've renewed it year after year ever since without question.

Bar tab for the wife and me one night,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Less then 1/2 tank of gas,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Just a little more then a mercury water pump rebuild kit,,,, Really even if its $200 one long tow and it pays for itself. I know i barely notice when I pay mine every year.
