I like the speed. I like the boat. I don't like $385,000 for a 30/31' Skater but I did read "this is not a firesale."

Why the name Unicorn? I must be getting old, that name would not my first choice, but then again without $385K I have no choices about the naming of that Skater.

I am impressed with the 133.4 mph.

I am impressed with the 131 mph.
Minor correction: 133.4 mph, per the story. So you can be 2.4-mph more impressed.

Unicorn? Because it is one of a kind. Started life as a raceboat, hit the course once before getting shelved, brought out of mothballs and transformed into a pleasure boat.

Now, you could say that all Skaters are unique and you wouldn't be wrong.

As for the price, I have no opinion. That said, the 31-footer has $100,000 plus worth of outboard power hanging off its transom.

Good looking boat. BUT $385,000 for a 12 year old boat? So the pair of 450 and rigging brings the motors to 100k. A 12 year old 30/31 skater Hull is worth $285,000?????? I’ll keep the rest of the comments to myself........

I'm certain Mr Torrente understands a boat is only worth what someone will pay. This is a BADASS machine. You could order a new Skater, wait close to 2 years for it to be built, & pay a lot more.
Good luck on the sale or enjoy keeping your amazing boat.

Two mph typo, for a boatowner to go two mph faster could cost lots of money. I appreciate the 133.4 mph correction,

I have zero issue with that price,

The boat is unique as can be, completely refit and redone with the best there is out there, is above others in speed in the O/B cat area, and he isn't rushing to sell it.

I wish him all the best with the boat either if it sells or he keeps it, it is a beautiful ride!

I had the pleasure of riding with Shaun this summer at LOTO during SupercatFest. The boat had less than 4 hours on the new 450R motors and had not been dialed in. The acceleration was incredible. We pulled hard through the entire RPM range. It quickly hit 120 and change that day on the limiters with the set of props he had. He has since had custom props made and custom tuned to dial the boat in.

Having built, re-powered, rebuilt, and modified many Skaters over the years I have real experience on the work time and money require, which is alway more than you estimate. In my case it’s a hobby and a labor of love. In Shawn’s case it is also a labor of love but by the expert whose life and career make him the ultimate guy to set these boats up.

The name Unicorn implies correctly that is truly one of a kind Skater built for racing (super light) converted for pleasure and all new interior and rigging. It’s been rigged and dialed in by one of the best and most experienced racers in the world. The boat simply cannot be duplicated.

There is is a real value to this boat that is above and beyond a basic 30’ catamaran or basic Skater. Some of us see it others don’t. Someone is is going to get a great boat ready to impress.
