Tons of bugs, heat , horrible humidity, salt in the water , other things in the water that can sting and eat you, old people, alligators and hurricanes.. good luck!!

Shore Acres, Ponderosa Shores, etc. - all of those areas flood and sometimes pretty badly (even with just a heavy summer rain storm).
The biggest question is where will your office be (assuming you are working out of an office). As someone stated above, you probably don't want to deal with the bridges (275, Gandy or SR 60) on your daily commute - they are constantly a mess.

I stay on the inter coastal side of st pete beach and visit frequently in the winter. Boat everywhere from Clearwater to key west. Never noticed any bugs bothering me. In fact we’ve noted their absence. Granted I’m on the water far more than on beaches.

My only gripes would be crab traps, no wake zones going north, not the quality of water front docking LOTO has, and expensive waterfront RE
